|The Hurricanes acquired Darling from the Blackhawks on Friday in exchange for a third-round pick in this year's draft. Carolina will have exclusive negotiating rights with Darling until July 1, when he will become an unrestricted free agent if he doesn't sign before then.
Analysis: Darling went 18-5-5 with a 2.38 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in 32 games for Chicago in 2016-17. His save percentage ranked tied for fourth among all NHL goaltenders who started more than 25 games.

Analysis: This certainly wasn't a confidence booster. Holtby has allowed at least three goals - in regulation - in four of his last six playoff games. He's lost five of his last six playoff games against the Penguins - four in last year's East finals.
